May Scholarships

1- Kappa Rho Chapter Omega Psi Phi Fraternity

  • Applicant must be a male high school senior who will enroll ima a two or four-year accredited institution of higher education

  • The application can be found in the scholarship display or printed from Google Classroom

1-Woodmen Life-MHS and LHS ONLY

  • Must be Woodmen Life and attend MHS or LHS

  • Note the school name on top of the application in Google Classroom. There is one for MHS and one for LHS

  • Must mail to arrive in the office by May 1

4 - Bertha and Samuel Butler Scholarship

  • Must be attending a HBCU

  • Application can be picked up in guidance/scholarship display

5 - Denning-McLamb Scholarship - UHS Only

  • Must be a UHS senior

  • See Mrs. Dove for an application

  • Return to Mrs. Dove by 12 noon

5 - Mark Robinson Scholarship - UHS only

  • Must be a UHS student who will attend a HBCU

  • Application in Google Classroom

  • Return application to Mrs. Dove by 12 noon

8 - NC Hispanic College Fund 

  • Must be of Hispanic background

  • 2.5 or higher GPA required

  • Indicate on your application if you would like to be considered for the engineering or Juntos scholarship in addition to the general Hispanic College Fund Scholarship

5/8 - Sampson County Monarch Bioenergy Scholarship

  • Our scholarships are for outstanding Sampson County HS Seniors and can be used at any four-year private or public college/university, community college, or trade school. 

  • The scholarships are intended for students who wish to enter the clean energy/Ag sector, but we encourage all areas of study and majors to apply.   

  • Applicants need to have a 2.5 or higher. Areas of study would include, but are not limited to, engineering, agriculture, environmental, all sciences, health, finance, business, communications, and degrees associated with a trade.

  • There will be two scholarships available for Sampson County. It is a one-time $2,500 award given during their first semester of school.

The application deadline is May 8, 2026, with the winners being announced on May 22, 2026.

13-Rho Omega Omega Chapter Scholarship

a. Rho Omega Omega Chapter Scholarship – Applicants attending a 2-year or 4-year college or university. Applicants must be attending as a freshman in the fall. 

b. Janet Spaulding Scholarship-Applicants attending a 2-year or 4-year college or university. Applicants must have plans of majoring or minoring in music or major in education. Applicants must be attending as a freshman in the fall  

SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: 

  • 1.  Rho Omega Omega Chapter Scholarship: GPA of 2.5 or higher 

  •  2. Demonstrates leadership in church, school, civic, or community  service 

  • 3. Evidence of financial need 

  • 4. Minority member 

  • 5. Applicant must be entering college as a freshman the fall of 26.

  • 6. A resident of Sampson or Bladen County

  • Application can be found in Google Classroom and in the scholarship display

15- Patriot Foundation Scholarship

  • Supports the educational goals of military and veteran families through scholarships

  • NC Patriot Star Family RECOVERY Scholarship and NC Patriot STAR Family Scholarship programs available

  • available to the children and spouses of fallen or disabled veterans, children of injured active-duty service members, as well as qualifying disabled veterans

22 - Howard Coooper Scholarship - LHS only
Must reside in the LHS school district

  • The application can be found in the scholarship Google Classroom

30 - Cape Fear Community College Scholarship

31- American Indian College Fund

Any Native American U.S. citizen that is a member or descendant of a state or federally recognized tribe with at least a 2.0 grade point average, and enrolled as a full-time student can apply for a scholarship.
