Good evening parents. This is Ms. Hines calling from RSMS with your weekly announcements.
First, I want to thank all of our students for their attention and focus during our RSMS Mindset Reset on Thursday and Friday last week. Their behavior far exceeded the reputation of RSMS and their ability to receive the information and be a part of the positive change at RSMS was truly remarkable. We only have good days ahead with our Leopards!

We will continue with our alternate route for car riders this week while construction is still on going in front of the school. We appreciate everyone for your patience during this time.

Please remember that students who are not in the gate at 7:55 am are tardy and will need a parent to sign them in at the office.

Please have students bring in cardboard, cereal boxes, and any newspaper you have at home you don’t want or need for our Art Department.

All Band Students should bring their instruments each day! Even on days they do not have band, as this will get them into the habit of having their instrument for class. They will be able to store their instruments in the instrument storage starting next Wednesday, January 14th. Students are responsible for all instrument accessories such as reeds and valve oil.

Students identified as Multilingual Learners (MLs) will be taking the State Mandated Language Proficiency test (WIDA ACCESS) starting tomorrow. This test assesses four language domains: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. In order to exit the ESL program the MLs must score a 4.5 or higher overall composite. Please, encourage your ML to do his/her best on this test.

There is an AIG Field Trip to MMS on Jan 27. Please sign and return the permission slip by Friday January 16th for your student to participate!

Athletics is currently looking for a Head Baseball and Assistant Baseball coach. Please email our AD at jmasters@sampson.k12.nc.us if you are interested.

The Family Resource Center is now open.
Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
If you need to schedule an appointment outside of these hours, please contact Ms. Logan by phone at 910-379-6543 or by email at camille.logan@studentudurham.org.

The last home game of the regular basketball season is tomorrow, Monday, January 12 against Sampson Middle School. Our girls’ basketball team will play at 4 pm and our boys’ will start at the conclusion of that game. Students wanting to stay for the game must bring a note and $5 for admission. Students will not be allowed to call home to get permission so please send a written note with them.

We also have an away game on Thursday at Midway Middle School starting at 4 pm.

Parents please "Pop on By" Tuesday night for our Report Card Pick-Up. Eighth grade parents will meet at 5:00 pm for information about the 8th grade field trip to Washington, DC. Ms. Hines will present our RSMS Mindset Reset for parents at 5:30 pm and report card pick-up will follow until 6:20 pm. We will meet in the media center. We can’t wait to share with you what Grace, Gratitude and Growth is all about!

Have a great night and go Leopards!

Good evening, Leopard families. This is Ms. Hines, with your weekly announcements for Roseboro-Salemburg Middle School for the week of December 15.

Homework will be sent home on Monday and is due on Friday for all core subject areas.

There will be no Homework Club or after-school detention this week.

Basketball games this week include:

Monday, December 15: RSMS at UMS, 4:00 p.m.

Thursday, December 18: MMS at RSMS, 4:00 p.m.

Early Release will take place on Friday, December 19, at 12:30 p.m.

Parents, please help us with the car rider line. In the mornings, students should be dropped off at the front of the school in the designated car rider line unless you have permission to use the staff parking lot. In the afternoons, all students must be picked up no later than 3:15 p.m.

Before we sign off, parents, please also remind your child to keep their hands to themselves so that we protect every student’s personal space. Additionally, please help us by reminding your student to follow the RSMS Expectations that teachers have clearly outlined for classrooms, hallways, and other spaces throughout RSMS. Together, we can get back on the right track.

Thank you for your continued support of Roseboro-Salemburg Middle School.
