Parents,
As the temperatures begin to warm, please be mindful of the Sampson County Schools Dress Code, which applies to all students, including those in elementary school. The full dress code can be found online in the Student Handbook (pages 74–75).
We certainly understand that many seasonal clothing options are cute and stylish; however, all clothing worn to school must also meet the district's guidelines for appropriateness and modesty. Please review the following key expectations:
Pants and belts must be worn at the hip bone. Sagging is not permitted.
Shorts, skirts, and skorts must be no higher than four inches above the knee. A helpful guideline is the fingertip rule—when students drop their hands at their sides, the bottom of the garment should extend below the middle finger.
Dresses, shirts, and blouses (for both male and female students) must cover at least half of the shoulder. Spaghetti straps and plunging necklines are not permitted. Please also be mindful of how low V-neck T-shirts fall.
Hats, bandannas, visors, and sunglasses may not be worn inside the building unless permitted for a special event such as Spirit Week.
Sheer or see-through clothing is not allowed.
Leggings are not considered pants, and shirts worn with leggings must extend to cover the buttocks area.
Your support in helping students follow the dress code ensures that our school environment remains focused on learning and respectful for everyone. Thank you for your continued partnership in helping Clement Elementary maintain high expectations for our students.

Clement Elementary celebrated our 100th Day of School in a big way!

This message is from Mr. Langley, Principal of Clement Elementary School. I would like to provide an update in light of this weekend’s potential inclement weather.
At this time, we are closely monitoring the possibility of winter weather that could impact school operations on Monday or Tuesday. As a precaution, instructional work will be sent home with students in the event remote learning becomes necessary. If used, students will be expected to complete the work and clearly date it with the specific day it is completed.
No decision has been made at this time regarding school closures or remote learning. District leadership will meet on Sunday to review the most up-to-date weather forecast and determine next steps.
Please continue to watch for additional communication. Thank you for your understanding and support.
Sincerely,
Mr. John H. Langley, M.Ed.

We welcome all families to join us for Coffee and Conversation with Mr. John H. Langley, Principal of Clement Elementary School.
During this special event, several families will share positive testimonials about their Clement experience — highlighting their child’s growth, the support of our wonderful staff, and their positive interactions with Principal Langley. 💙✨
Each family will also receive an anonymous card to share any concerns. Concern cards will be dropped into a special box, and Mr. Langley will randomly pull cards to address questions and feedback with the group. (Names or student names do not need to be included.)
The morning will conclude with an exciting discussion about Clement Elementary’s 100th Year Celebration (1926–2026)! 🎉
We look forward to connecting, listening, and celebrating with our Clement community! 🌟
