At the October 27, 2025, Regular Board Meeting, Mr. Michael Giddens, a 7th-grade science teacher at Hobbton Middle School, was recognized for recently being selected as a Keenan Fellow for Teacher Leadership—one of North Carolina’s most prestigious honors for educators.
Mr. Giddens was commended for his innovative approach to science instruction, leadership in curriculum development, and dedication to student engagement through project-based learning.

Kaylan graduated from Hobbton High School in 2015. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - Information Technology from NC State. Before transitioning to SIS coordinator, Kaylan taught information technology and business for the past 3 years at Hobbton High School.
"I am excited for the opportunity to expand my knowledge of student information systems while strengthening my IT skills. I look forward to continuing to serve Sampson County Schools in this new role," says Kaylan.

Military Academies Open House for high school students and their families who are interested in attending these schools and speaking to representatives who can provide information about applying for and preparing to attend these colleges or programs. You do not have to live on post or be military-connected to participate. All civilians will have to enter the gate at the Fort Liberty Visitors Center at the All-American Gate (3550 All American Fwy, Fort Liberty, NC 28310).
