Military Families

Sampson County Schools (SCS) is committed to supporting military-connected students and their families. The district values its partnership with nearby military installations, the North Carolina National Guard, and Reserve components, and works to maintain strong relationships built on service, collaboration, and care. These connections ensure that the unique needs of military-connected students are identified and addressed, resulting in high-quality support and resources that promote academic success and student well-being.

Sampson County Schools collaborates with community and military partners to provide programs and services that ease transitions for military families. Support is available through Military Family Life Counselors (MFLC), Student-2-Student Programs (S2S), and dedicated staff who serve as liaisons for military students and their families. Sampson County has three schools in the Midway district that have achieved Purple Star School designation, a recognition of their commitment to military-connected students through staff training, family support, and honoring the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children.
