Welcome to Mrs. Wood's ELA and AIG class! I am looking forward to sharing my love of reading and writing with my students and opening their eyes to the wonderful world of fiction and nonfiction that is available to them. I also hope to foster a love of learning and reading in my students that will stay with them for years to come and help them as they transition to the high school and beyond.

As AIG Specialist for Union Middle and Union Intermediate, I enjoy finding rigorous activities and working with teachers to make sure we are serving this population to the best of their abilities.

I am a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a BA in English and a concentration in professional and creative writing. I also have my teaching license in Middle School Language Arts and my AIG certification. I have been teaching at Union Middle School for 16 years and this is my fourth year as AIG Specialist for the Union District.

I will begin posting enrichment activities weekly to my Google classroom beginning some time in September. I have already uploaded one assignment for setting goals for your Differentiated Education Plan. Please complete this assignment as soon as possible!

 Everyone MUST complete that assignment so I can attach your goals to your DEP for this year.
