Ashley Yancey

Ashley Yancey

My name is Mrs. Ashley Yancey and I am the Media Coordinator for UHS. I have been working at Union for 20 years and love the family atmosphere that surrounds everyone that walks through the doors.

To give you a little information about myself, I graduated from East Bladen High School in Elizabethtown, NC in 1999. I then went on to Chowan College where I stayed for two years before transferring to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. I graduated in 2004 with a degree in English Education and was fortunate to be hired by Mr. Stuart Daughtery in the Fall of that year to serve as an English II teacher. I have had the opportunity to teach all levels of high school English, but my experience lies mainly in English I and English II courses.

When I first started at Union, I was an assistant coach for both the Lady Spartan Volleyball and Softball Teams. I have been the UHS Reflector Yearbook Advisor for several years and also had the pleasure of teaching Digital Media which produced many entertaining news casts and special productions. In 2011, I completed my course work and earned my Masters Degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Supervision. I received my second Masters Degree on August 2019 in the area of Library Science. I started serving UHS as the Media Coordinator in August 2019 and have enjoyed all the changes and challenges that my new role entails.

Union is a place where I not only work, but where I call home. Go Spartans!
