My name is Jonathan Bass and I am the OCS teacher at UHS. This is my second year in education, but my first year at UHS, but this is home to me. I graduated from UHS in 2010, and I am so happy to be back! When I walk through those front doors every morning, I feel like I am entering my second home, and I am coming to see my second family. And, of course, I have the greatest students in the school (I may be a tad biased)! Every day is just a little bit different. After graduating from UHS, I attended Campbell University, and graduated from there in 2014 with a degree in Psychology. After a few years of wandering in the wilderness, the OCS teacher position at UHS opened up, and I was fortunate to be hired by Ms. Julie Hunter. I am still learning, but every day back at home is a blessing!

The second best decision I made this year, after deciding to come back home, was to be heavily involved in athletics. I have helped with girl's basketball, and now am the Associate Athletic Director. Although very time consuming, it is at the same time extremely rewarding. I love being a part of the fraternity of great coaches here at UHS, and I would not trade that for the world. Go Spartans!
