Degrees and Certifications:
Master's in Elementary Education
I am a graduate of Clinton High School in Clinton, North Carolina. I graduated from Campbell University in 2003 and began teaching soon after. I have taught Kindergarten, third grade, and fourth grade, but my preferred grade level so far has been second grade. I returned to school while teaching and obtained my Masters Degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. I am also the proud mother of a daughter who is a junior at Appalachian State University and a son who is in 8th grade. In my free time, I enjoy painting, reading, traveling to the beach and the mountains, cooking, shopping, writing, and drinking lots of hot tea! My husband and I run a flower farm in the summer months. I also have two dogs, two cats, and a flock of chickens that keep me busy!
The curriculum I use in my classroom includes Heggerty, UFLI, CKLA Skills and Knowledge, as well as iReady Math. We also utilize Amplify programs to promote fluency and comprehension.
