My Background
Upon graduating from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington (UNCW-- Go Seahawks) in 1996, I taught 7th grade in Cumberland County at Douglas Byrd Middle School.  In 2001, I transferred to EE Smith High School also in Cumberland County (home of the Golden Bulls), to experience 9th grade Algebra.  Finally in 2006, I finally recieved the opportunity to work at RSMS and I have been here for ten years---And I LOVE it!!!  

Philosophy of Teaching
I believe all children can learn if given the right tools to use and a teacher willing to teach. As educators, we must meet our students at the level they are at and lead them to where we know they have the potential to be. I have never met a lost cause, one that can't be changed if motivated to do so, or a student who I gave up on.

My job is not for those who are faint of heart. Yet it is a job that I am blessed to go to. I have the opportunity to change lives by the very words I speak and by my very actions. I am excited to teach and be taught by my students!
