Battle of the Books
The purpose of Battle of the Books is to encourage the reading of quality literature from various authors and genres. Students read books from a list of books established by the state Battle of the Books committee and compete in quiz-bowl style tournaments to test their knowledge of these books. The county competition is held in the spring and the winner of this competition goes on to compete at the state level. Tryouts for the BOB team are held in September. The Battle of the Books team will meet daily during Flex time in the media center. We may have a few afterschool practices during the month of February to prepare for the competition.
