Hi, my name is Lawanna Parker. I currently hold the title as NC Pre-K teacher at RES, I obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Birth-Kindergarten from Fayetteville State University. My two daughters treaded a different path than myself as they both hold Bachelor's Degrees from North Carolina Central University. I am very fortunate to be a part of a large family of 17. I am the fourteenth child of seventeen. My family hold Education as a top priority and have always looked at it as a way to escape poverty.
Being a Pre-K teacher brings me a sense of joy because I am able to enrich the lives of little ones at an early age. This is where they get their start as a great foundation for Kindergarten. While children attend Pre-K classrooms, they are able to get the essential skills that will help them become successful for the rest of their lives. Afterall, the future of the world is in my classroom today.
My philosophy comes from one of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. quotes: "If you can't fly, then run. If you can't run, then walk. If you can't walk, then crawl, but whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward."
