Military Connection
Plain View Elementary School is committed to supporting the unique needs of military-connected students and their families. Our student body includes children from all branches of the armed forces and we recognize the challenges associated with frequent transitions and deployments. Our goal is to ensure every military-connected student feels welcomed, supported, and connected — both academically and socially.
To achieve this, we have established a comprehensive support network. Our Military Family Liaison, Mrs. Shannon Williams, serves as the primary point of contact for incoming and current military families, helping them navigate enrollment, academic records, and school resources. We also provide peer transition support by pairing new students with grade level peers to help them acclimate to school culture and routines.
Throughout the year, Plain View Elementary celebrates and honors our military community. We currently host two annual events, a Veterans Day breakfast followed by a student lead assembly recognizing military families, and Purple Up! Day, where students and staff wear purple to show support. Additionally, our website includes external resources, mental health services, and extracurricular opportunities.
At Plain View Elementary, we take pride in being a welcoming home for military-connected students. Our commitment to compassion, inclusion, and service ensures that every student can find stability, belonging, and excellence.
