Welcome to the Plain View Media Center!
Hello! I am Mrs. Tonya Hayes. I am just beginning my journey as a Librarian and Media Specialist in the 2026-2027 school year and am so excited! I have taught kindergarten, 2nd, and 4th grades in my 8 years as a classroom teacher and am eager to share the love of reading with all ages through the library! I have a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Campbell University and am currently pursuing my Masters of Library Science at East Carolina University. I am Nationally Board Certified in Early Childhood education and have a passion for early literacy.
I have a husband, two children, and two cats. I am blessed to live in this amazing community of Plain View and raise my children here. My hobbies include painting, reading, shopping, and spending time with my family and friends.
In addition to Media, I am the AIG liaison for our school and lead our chapter of the Elementary Beta Club.
I am excited for an amazing year here at Plain View Elementary!
