Title I

Title I is a major federal law providing money to school districts to help low-income students meet academic standards (National Center for Education Statistics). Created in 1965, it gives extra money to schools with high numbers of children from low-income families. Schools can use this money to hire extra teachers, reduce class sizes, buy learning devices, run after-school programs, or offer tutoring. Please view the linked files & slides presentation to learn more about Title I funding and its uses at Midway High School during the 2026-27 school year.
