My name is Greg S. Waters. I am from Wallace, NC. I graduated from Wallace Rose Hill High School in 1998. I went on to UNC Wilmington and graduated in 2003 with a double major in Biology (BS) and Chemistry (BA). I worked for a pharmaceutical company in Wilmington, NC until 2010. I decided to go into teaching that summer and got a job at Sampson Middle School. After 1 year there, I moved over to James Kenan High School and worked there for 3 years. During that time, I earned my teacher certification license from UNC Asheville. In the fall of 2014, I moved to HHS where I have been ever since. I love it here at Hobbton. I currently teach Physical Science and Chemistry but have also taught Earth/Environmental Science and Biology in the past here at HHS. I am the chair of the science department and a member of SLT, MTSS, PBIS, and PGC. I am an advisor for the Science National Honors Society and the Fellowship of Christian Students. I have coached basketball and assisted with football in the past and hope to coach again in the future when my children are older. I was honored last year to be chosen the HHS 2019/2020 Teacher of the Year by my coworkers. I have always and will always put my students best interests first and will do everything I can to help them learn and grow as responsible adults. Personally, I have a wife, Leslie A. Waters, whom teaches kindergarten at Hargrove Elementary School (and went to HHS!), and three children, Bailey, Jaxon, and Lily Kate. I enjoy time with my family, golf, my church, coffee, and above all else GOD! GO WILDCATS!!
