Meet Mrs. Pearson....
My name is Ragan Pearson and I am the Chair of the History Department. After I graduated from Hobbton High School, I attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington where I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in History and Masters of Arts in Teaching History. Five years after I began teaching, I obtained my school administrative license. I have been teaching American History at Hobbton High School for over two decades. Along with American History, I teach AP US History, AP Government and Politics and the Holocaust & Genocide elective. I believe that one of the best ways for students to connect with history is to visit historical sites. For the past fifteen years, I have acquired roughly $40,000 to take students on historical excursions...both within the state of North Carolina and surrounding places like Washington D.C., Monticello, Mount Vernon, and Colonial Williamsburg.
