Parker, Ivey
Hello! I am Ivey Parker Bradshaw, second grade teacher at Clement. I am excited to share a little about myself. I am a Sampson County native, living in Clinton my entire life. I am a true representative of Sampson County Schools as I attended a local school Kindergarten through 12th grade. I began working at Clement in 2020 as the Data Manager. I became a teacher in 2023, teaching second grade. I enjoy working with children as I have taught church Sunday school classes and coached many rec ball teams over the years. I am honored to work alongside teachers, parents and administration that put students first. In my class, we are a family. We decide on a social contract that displays how we treat others, what makes a family and what a good student consists of.
The second grade curriculum is fascinating as we begin to read more complex texts and comprehend the main ideas. We also learn to add and subtract within 1,000. Our curriculum for Reading is CKLA and Math is iReady. We integrate our Science and Social Studies standards into our readings and attend educational field trips that correlate with our studies. Our school provides interventions to differentiate specific learning needs for all students. All students are monitored and assessed for success. The second grade team strives to provide students with growth in all areas including agriculture. Living in Sampson County, we are surrounded with various farming operations and food production that students can relate to. We are proud to showcase a few of the agriculture processes that make North Carolina the great state it is, in second grade. We work with Sampson County Cooperative Extension and 4-H to make our agriculture education possible, they are a great resource.
Fun Fact: My favorite second grade field trip is the NC Zoo. I love animals and many students do not get the opportunity to visit the zoo with their families. I enjoy watching them in awe of the wild animals in their natural habitats. It is a blessing to see and be a part of.
