June 8, 2022: School-issued Device Return
Good evening, Sampson County Schools’ families, this is Valerie Newton calling to remind you that if your child has a school-issued device, such as an iPad, laptop, Kajeet, or other Sampson County Schools’ digital device, they should have already returned it to school.
Please check if your child has returned the device, its charger, and the case. Schools will accept student devices over the next week and are open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and are closed on Fridays.
The only exception is any student that is attending summer school should keep their school-issued device until the end of the summer program.
Thank you for your attention to this matter and have a great summer!

May 30, 2022: Hobbton High School Social Media Threat
Good evening, Hobbton High School families, this is Valerie Newton calling on behalf of Principal Michael Warren. School administration has been made aware of a threat made against Hobbton high school on social media. Although the threat has been found to be unsubstantiated and not credible, we will continue to investigate. As a precautionary measure and to reassure students and staff, there will be an increased law enforcement presence at school on Tuesday as part of our standard response procedures. As part of our school's safety, we take all threats seriously and we affirm this commitment by notifying parents of events that potentially could affect our school campus. Please know that the safety of our students and staff is one of our primary responsibilities and any mentions of threats, even if deemed not credible, or made in jest, are taken very seriously. Thank you for your attention to this matter and have a good evening.

May 1, 2022: Hobbton District Traffic Pattern
Good evening, Hobbton district families, this is Valerie Newton calling to update you on new traffic patterns at Hobbton schools. Beginning Monday, May 2, Hobbton will be implementing new traffic patterns entering and exiting the schools. This will mainly affect the buses, but could also impact car traffic. We wanted you to be aware in advance because there will likely be more changes over the next several days to how cars enter and exit the schools. We will make adjustments as needed with the intent of easing traffic backups within the school drop-off and pick-up areas, ultimately creating a safer way to exit the schools. We appreciate your patience as we work through this process, knowing that we are working to create safer traffic patterns within the Hobbton school district. Thank you for your attention to this matter and have a great evening.
