Degrees and Certifications:
Bachelor's in Biology concentration in Zoology Associate in Arts
My name is Kaela Watts and this will be my first year teaching here at Union. I am the 6th grade Science teacher. I grew up here locally in Sampson county. I am a product of Union. I graduated in 2008 from Union High school. The middle school was MY high school! I then attended Sampson Community College graduating in 2011 with my Associate in Arts. I attended the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and graduated in 2014 with my Bachelor's in Biology. I have an intense love for science and look forward to spreading my knowledge in this subject with my students.
I will be posting announcements in several different places. Here on my teacher's page will be one of the first places I post any updates or announcements. I will also send out an email to each student. Each student should check their email daily. I will also post in TEAMS. An invite to TEAMS was sent out to each student email.
Each day I will be available to answer any questions you may have. I will answer emails and posts in TEAMS. In TEAMS there is an option to chat, post on the main page and there is also a collaboration space in the class notebook. In the collaboration space all students have the ability to post. I would love for us all to use this space as a way to communicate about the topics we are learning. Questions or comments concerning the content can be put there. We can have discussions just as if we are in the classroom together.
If you ever feel overwhelmed or discouraged, remember I am here to help. I miss seeing your smiling faces in the classroom. Continue to put in the amazing effort and get plenty of exercise and sunshine. We are living history, this is a first for all. TOGETHER we will pull through this, you are not alone.
