Degrees and Certifications:
B.A. in Spanish Language and Literature, 2006
I was born and raised in North Carolina but have been fortunate to travel extensively throughout the United States and the world. I am approaching nine years of teaching experience with the majority of my work done in ESL and Spanish. I graduated from NC State University and am always happy to talk about student life and the city of Raleigh if you are considering attending NC State University. To perfect my Spanish, I also studied in Mexico City at La Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, more commonly known as La UNAM. Living and studying in one of the largest metropolitan areas in the world was an unforgettable experience! I highly encourage any student with the chance to travel to do so.
In my ESL classes I have high expectations for my students, just as I do for myself! Our focus will always be to work in the four main content areas of listening, speaking, reading, and writing, with a heavy focus being on the latter two content areas. ESL is a useful service that is a great benefit to students- it exists to help and support! I firmly consider myself a student of life and a life-long learner. I look forward to learning a lot along with my students during the 2017-2018 school year!
