SGM-R Douglas S. Koser was born in Lewistown, PA.  He entered the US Army in July 1985 and completed Military Police One Station Unit Training at Fort McClellan, AL.  SGM Koser’s military education includes Sniper School, Traffic Accident Investigator Course, CID Course, PLDC, Combat Lifesaver Course, Airborne and Air Assault Courses, BNCOC, Recruiter School, Station Commander Course, Hazardous Materials Instructor Course, Drill Sergeant School, Master Fitness Trainer Course, ANCOC, Physical Security Inspector Course, US Army Safety Course, Battle Staff NCO Course, First Sergeant Course and Class 57, of the US Army Sergeants Major Academy.

He has a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Excelsior University and is working on his Master’s Degree in Organizational Management.

 His assignments and duty positions include 295th MP Company, Seneca Army Depot, NY-MP/Special Reaction Team Sniper; Fort Shafter MP Company (Pohakuloa Training Area), HI-Traffic Accident Investigator; 511th MP Company and 10th MP Company, Fort Drum, NY-Team Leader and Squad Leader; Rochester Recruiting Company, Greece, NY-Recruiter; 529th MP Company (Honor Guard), Heidelberg, Germany-Platoon Sergeant; Company A,1/10 Infantry Battalion, Company B, 795th MP Battalion-Senior Drill Sergeant and HQ, 14th MP Brigade-Detachment Sergeant, Fort Leonard Wood, MO; 142nd MP Company-Operations Sergeant, Seoul Korea, the “Mighty” 188th MP Company-First Sergeant, Taegu, Korea, 511th MP Company-Operations Sergeant, Operations Sergeant Major/Command Sergeant Major (R) for the 91st Military Police Battalion, Fort Drum, NY.

 His deployments include Operation Just Cause, Panama; Operation Promote Liberty, Panama; Operation Joint Endeavor/Joint Guard, Bosnia/Croatia and POTC in Jordan.

He is presently serving as a Junior ROTC Instructor at Union High School in Sampson County NC.

 SGM-R Koser is married to his lovely wife, Dawn and together they have has four grown children, five grandchildren, and three dogs.  They reside in Currie NC
