About Me...

Once a Raider, Always a Raider!  I am a life long resident of the Midway Community.  I attended Midway Elementary from Kindergarten through 8th grade.  In 2002, I graduated  from Midway High School.  I obtained my B.S degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies with a concentration in Therapeutic Recreation from the University of Mount Olive in 2006.

Student Support Specialist...

My job is to advocate and support ALL students in the Midway District.  My ultimate goal is to help students stay in school and be successful in life.  I keep a regular check on student grades, attendance, discipline referrals, behavioral and social issues, and emotional states.  I also oversee the following programs at Midway High School...

SAVE (Students Against Violence Everywhere)- a nationwide student-led organization that encourages young people to take charge of keeping their friends, schools, and communities safe.

Jump Start - a program that allows 8th graders, who are behind in school, to be promoted to high school during the 2nd semester of their 8th grade year.  This program helps to give students who would potentially age out of high school, the opportunity to graduate on time with their peers.

Alternative Learning/Virtual School Program- an online education program that allows students who have been temporarily removed from the public school system for discipline reasons the opportunity to continue their education remotely from home.

Alternative Diploma Program - a program for SENIORS--who would potentially age out of school--to have credits waved and given the opportunity to graduate according to NC standards.
