My personal educational philosophy focuses on the belief that every student is a valuable individual who can learn and who can expand his or her current knowledge base and skill level when appropriately motivated. Through experience, I have learned the key to success is to determine where a student is academically and to encourage the student to pursue and acquire the knowledge and skills needed to become a productive member of the community. I believe in providing a safe, orderly, and respectful educational environment that fosters academic growth. As I prepare my students for post-secondary opportunities and for living successfully in the community, I focus on helping students understand the relevance between content skills and activities and real world situations and expectations. As an educator, my goal is to equip my students with reading, writing, communication, and life skills that will help them in their present and future endeavors.
