Mrs. Jaclyn Garey

Sampson County born and bred, I am proud to say that I have been a Union Spartan for 12 years. After graduating from Union's biggest rival, Midway High School in 1997, I attended Sampson Community College for two years then transferred to Campbell Universtiy where I obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. While in college I worked part-time at State Employees' Credit Union in Clinton and Dunn. Upon graduating from Campbell University, I began working full time at the Credit Union and worked as a Teller and Member Service Representative. I had a desire and a calling to pursue a career in Education and applied for a Math position at Union High School where I was later hired. I would begin work in 2003 as an Algebra I teacher not knowing where this journey would take me. In the 2004-2005 school year I decided to move to the Business Education department where I taught business classes for two years. In the fall of 2006, I moved to the guidance department as the CDC/SPC where I am still currently serving. In 2009, I decided to futher my education and obtain a Master's degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Supervision from UNCW. In May of 2011, I achieved this degree. During my time at Union, I was the head Volleyball coach for 6 six years, assisted with softball, and served on several committees.

In March of 2004, I met my husband, Don, and we were married in June 2006.  After trying for a few years to start our family, we were blessed with our first daughter, Halle Ann on October 23, 2011. Little did we know that in July of 2014, God had another blessing in store for us. Our second daughter, Harper Addison, was born on July 10th. Being a mom is an awesome responsibility, and I thank God for the gift of motherhood; it is truly a blessing that is indescribable.

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, being actively involved in my church, shopping, and going to the beach.
