    • Seniors with a 2.5 or higher GPA who will attend a 4 year college upon graduation may apply

    • Must have played Dixie Youth at age 12 or younger

     

    1 - Ducks Unlimited Scholarship

    • 3.0 or higher GPA required
    • Must be a member of DU

     

    1 - NC American Indian College Fund

    • $1,000
    • 2.0 or higer required

     

    1- Forgiveable Education Loans for Service

    • 3.0 or higher GPA required
    • Be willing to work in NC in a critical employment shortage profession like nursing, allied health programs, or education. Visit guidance for a complete list.
    • A loan for one academic year will be foregiven for one year of employment up to maximum limits.

     

    1 - Golden Leaf Scholarship

    • $12,000
    • Be a North Carolina resident for tuition purposes.
    • Be a high school senior enrolling full-time as a first-year student or a community college transfer student enrolling for the first time at a participating college in NC.
    • Be a resident of a rural county that is economically distressed and/or tobacco dependent.
    • Have financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) with an EFC of $10,000 or less

    • Must be entering 4 year college with plans to declare a fine arts major.
    • Rank in top 20% of class
    • Minimum ACT Composite of 25 WAIVED
    • Good Character
    • Participation in extra-curricular activities
    • Financial need-not the primary consideration
    • Applicant must include flash drive, CD, or DVS of yourself demonstrating proof of talent or ability in fine arts.

    • Female student planning to enroll in college/university in NC
    • Rank in top 10% of class
    • Minimum ACT Composite of 25 WAIVED

    • Must be entering a 4 year college in NC
    • Rank in top 10% of class

    1 -Alpha Delta Kappa Past State Presidents Scholarship Application

    1. Student majoring in any field of education
    2. Rising Junior, Senior, or Graduate student at the time of application
    3. Attending or planning to attend a college or university in North Carolina
    4. Full-time student carrying at least 12 hours at the time of application
    5. Good character
    6. Financial need (not the primary consideration)
    7. $2,000

     

    1 - NC Alpha Delta Kappa Student Achievement Scholarship

    • Graduating seniors of a North Carolina high school pursuing a degree at a school of higher learning.
    • Applicants must have an unweighted GPA of 2.5 to 3.5 and an SAT score (including Math, Reading, and Writing and Language Tests) n the range of 990 to 1130 OR an ACT composite score between 20 and 24. 
    • THIS SCHOLARSHIP IS DESIGNED FOR STUDENTS WITH GRADES AND SCORES FALLING WITHIN THESE RANGES ONLY. STUDENTS WITH LOWER OR HIGHER SCORES WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
    • Applicants are also judged based on their service to school, community, and church, as well as their integrity and leadership potential.

    1STAR Communications Scholarship 

    • $1,000
    • Must subscribe to one of STAR Communications services
    • Be accepted to a 4-year college
    • SAT score of 800 or higher or ACT of 19 or higher
    • This application must be printed from the link above and mailed. See Mrs. Dove if you need assistance printing.

     

    2 - Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation

    The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation provides need-based scholarships to the children of Marines and Navy Corpsmen who attend college or career training.

     

     

    5Cape Fear Farm Credit FFA Scholarship 

    • 3.0 or higher GPA required
    • 21 ACT or 1350 SAT
    • $2,000 per year for 4 years
    • Must have at least 1 year membership with FFA

     

    5Cape Fear Farm Credit At Large and Diversity Scholarship 

    • Must be the child or grandchild of a Cape Fear Farm Credit member
    • 3.0 or higher GPA required
    • $1,000
    • To be considered for the diversity scholarship, applicant must identify racial status on the application

     

    5- Cape Fear Farm Credit 4-H Scholarship

    • One 4-H scholarship award is available each year to a high school senior residing in the counties served by Cape Fear Farm Credit.
    • Applicants must have at least one year of membership with 4-H.
    • $2000 per year for up to four years.
    • 3.0 or higher GPA required
    • Applicant must be accepted in a college or university program as a full-time undergraduate student.

     

    6- Foundation for Rural Services Scholarship 

    • Be sponsored by a current NTCA member (Star Communications);
    • Be accepted by an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational/ technical school;
    • Have at least a C grade point average (GPA);
    • Express an interest to return to a rural community following graduation.
    • The applicant’s home of record with his/her respective high school must receive one of Star Communication’s services.

    7 - Peter S. Slomianyj Scholarship Fund

    • Subway employees or children of Subway employees who have worked at least 1,000 hours over the last 12 months.
    • Students must have a 2.0 GPA in high school or a 2.5 GPA in college.

    8 - Farm Bureau University Scholarship 

    • $4,000 per year for 4 years
    • Preference given to Farm Bureau Members
    • Intent to pursue a career in agriculture or in an agriculturally-related field
    • Application can be emailed or mailed to the address on the application

     

    8- Farm Bureau Community College Scholarship 

    • $1,000 per year for two years
    • Preference is given to Farm Bureau Members
    • Intent to pursue a career in agriculture or in an agriculturally-related field

    13 - NCHSAA - Jerry McGee Endowed Student Scholarship

    • Awarded to two senior year high school student-athletes from North Carolina High School Athletic Association member schools each year. This award is unique because it honors both male and female student-athletes who have distinguished themselves by overcoming adversity and returned to excel beyond expectations in their scholastic athletic sport(s). 

     

    15 - North Carolina State Firefighter's Association Scholarship

    The NCSFA provides a variety of scholarships and grants to qualified North Carolina firefighters, including college scholarships for the children of qualified firefighters.

    17 - Bryan Scholarship HHS only

    • Application available from Mrs. Dove's Google Classroom.
    • There are also some copies in the scholarship drawer at the school.
    • Any college bound senior attending HHS may apply

    17 - Herter- Oneal Scholarship

    • Must be majoring in business at a 2 or 4 year college

     

    25Pineland Scholarship 

    • $1,000
    • Preference is given to those who have family members who attended Pineland College, but IS NOT required. I have actually found that there aren't many if any who have family members who attended.

    • Leadership Skills

    29 - Sam Kitchin Memorial Scholarship - MHS ONLY

    CRITERIA FOR ELIGIBILITY:

    The student must be a U.S. citizen and student of Midway High School. She/he must show academic promise with:

    • GPA of 3.0 or better
    • Dedication to MHS – Taking initiative; exhibiting pride
    • Leadership skills
    • Good moral character/Citizenship

     The candidate must be planning to attend a 4-year accredited institution of higher learning in the fall of 2021 and plan to enroll in a Bachelor’s Degree program as a full-time student in any major.

    1. Student must be a graduating high school senior 2. Attending a high school within one of the seven (7) counties (Cumberland, Hoke, Moore, Harnett, Robeson, Sampson and Bladen) 3. Student must possess a minimum grade point average (GPA) 3.0 4. Two unopened official school transcripts 5. Typed essay minimum of one thousand (1000)-words 6. Letter of acceptance to an accredited institution of higher education 7. Two signed letters of recommendation (School Official and Community Leader) nonfamily members 8. A letter of introduction (identifying student and their contribution to school and community, family background, and educational need)
