Policy on Bullying
Sampson County Schools expressly prohibits unlawful discrimination, harassment, or bullying, including but not limited to actions based on: gender, age, race, religion, ethnicity, national origin, physical characteristics, and physical or mental disabilities. Bullying is a form of harassment. Bullying is the repeated and deliberate verbal and/or physical abuse of a student by one or more students. Bullying may include, but is not limited to, verbal taunts, name‐calling and put‐downs, extortion of money or possessions, implied or stated threats, and exclusion from peer groups. This aggression is unwelcomed, unprovoked, and intended to do emotional harm. All reported incidents are to be investigated by the principal or designee and appropriate disciplinary action taken.
