
Mrs. Peterson is a native of Sampson County. She graduated from Union High School in 2001, then she continued to pursue her education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in History in 2005, while simultaneously uncovering her passion in life, education. To accomplish her goals of becoming an educator, she completed the Master of Arts in Teaching Program at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. For the last several years, Mrs. Peterson has been employed by Sampson County Schools as a high school Social Studies teacher at Union High School. She was awarded the honor of Sampson County Schools Teacher of the Year 2012-13.
Mrs. Peterson is the current Assistant Principal at Union Elementary, where she herself began her education many years ago. She plans
to continue to serve the students of Sampson County Schools for many years to come.
Mrs. Peterson lives in the Taylors Bridge community with her husband, Chad Peterson and one daughter, Ivey Kate Peterson.
