Education info:  Linda Jewell Carr received a bachelor of science degree Theatre Arts K-12 from Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, NC. Continuing to major in drama she received a Masters of Education in Drama from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  Dr. Carr attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for her doctoral studies in Educational Leadership.  She taught at Clinton High School for seven years before moving into administration with Wayne County Schools at Goldsboro High School, North Drive Elementary and Tommy's Road Elementary. Linda returned to our community to open Sampson Early College in 2005 as the principal as a consortium effort between Sampson County Schools, Clinton City Schools and Sampson Community College. She is delighted to be back in the world of elementary education and looks forward to making a difference in the lives of our young people everyday.

Linda is happily married to Ed Carr of Clinton.  They have two children James Edward Carr, Jr. and Jewell Leanna Carr.  Linda Carr believes that all children can learn and holds students to high standards.  Student attendance is critical to their success.  We need to make the most of everyday.  Learning can be fun.

Mrs. Peterson is a native of Sampson County. She graduated from Union High School in 2001, then she continued to pursue her education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in History in 2005, while simultaneously uncovering her passion in life, education. To accomplish her goals of becoming an educator, she completed the Master of Arts in Teaching Program at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. For the last several years, Mrs. Peterson has been employed by Sampson County Schools as a high school Social Studies teacher at Union High School. She was awarded the honor of Sampson County Schools Teacher of the Year 2012-13.

Mrs. Peterson is the current Assistant Principal at Union Elementary, where she herself began her education many years ago. She plans to continue to serve the students of Sampson County Schools for many years to come.

Mrs. Peterson lives in the Taylors Bridge community with her husband, Chad Peterson and one daughter, Ivey Kate Peterson.
