The 2013 Hamilton Award

The Hamilton Award is for juniors in high school who are:

  • College bound
  • has a strong record of community service
  • shows a strong commitment to their academic studies
  • Is a self-starter
  • shows passion and commitment to thier interests
  • Has financial need
  • Committed to enrolling in the Hamilton Leaders Academy

There is no student cost for the Hamilton Leaders Academy and winners will receive:

  • $500 Cash Scholarship
  • Leadership Training in Seattle (2013) and in Guatemala (2014)
  • College Application Assistance
  • Scholarship Search Assistance

Summer Programs

 

Summer Ventures in Science and Mathematics

Entrance into the Summer Ventures in Science and Mathematics

  • rigorous four-week academic program intended to reward and stimulate students who have demonstrated commitment to academic growth and development in science and mathematics.
  • Admissions is based on academic record and motivation to pursue science and mathematics activities beyond the classroom.
  • The program is free of charge to student.

  • Deadline to apply is January 31 by midnight.

The Shelton Challenge (for one week)

Fayetterville State University, Fayetteville, NC

Dates: June 19-24th

Requirements: need to be a rising 9th-12th grade student with a GPA of 3.0 or better

Cost: $575.00 (includes deposit, lodging, meals and program curriculum (Scholarships may be available)

Each participant will:

  • Participate in team-building activies focused on honesty, integrity, compassion, diversity and social responsibility
  • Assess personal leadership skills and practice leading teammates daily.
  • Participate in a service project in a local community.
  • Participate in planning fun night activities such as an ice cream social, talent show, dance or game night, and more.
