What's Happening in Art

The week of March 15th - 19th

 

6th grade

We will begin learning about one-point perspective drawings.

No Homework

Objectives:

Students will continue to develop drawing skills.

7th grade

We will finish clay boxes and begin watercolor painting.

Students will learn how to use clay.

Students will improve painting skills.

8th grade

We will begin final watercolor painting.

Homework:

Objectives:

Students will continue developing painting skills and prepare for all county art show.

 

7th and 8th grade Art Journalism

Students will continue individual centers. Students are grouped into 4 groups per grade level and each has a rotation. Each rotation last about 22 days, and at the end of each rotation each group is responsible for their end product which will be graded.

Centers:

Yearbook construction -7^th and 8^th grade

Newspaper construction -8^th grade only

Digital photography -7^th grade only

Design and layout using publisher – 7^th grade only

Altered books and art making – 7^th and 8^th grade

Video Making – 8^th grade only

Objectives:

Learn how to use publisher, take digital photos, construct a video, write newspaper articles, and alter books depending on the center they are in.
