(The first paragraph below was copied from:  http://www.usnews.com/directories/high-schools/.)  Thanks to Col. Tommy Macon for bringing this to our attention!

U.S.News & World Report—in collaboration with School Evaluation Services, a K-12 education and data research and analysis business that provides parents with education data on schoolmatters.com—analyzed academic and enrollment data from more than 21,000 public high schools to find the very best across the country. These top schools were placed into gold, silver, bronze, or honorable mention categories.

A search by state and county reveals the following results:

Hobbton High
Sampson County , Newton Grove , NC
Bronze
Lakewood High
Sampson County , Salemburg , NC
Bronze

Only 32 schools in North Carolina received the bronze distinction and only 46 high schools in the state were recognized for anything.  Sampson County Schools had two high schools recognized; the same as Wake County.  Johnston County and Wayne County Schools each had one high school recognized.  This is truly an honor for our school system.

WOW!!!    Congratulations to the students, teachers, administrators and  support staff for this achievement!  This just validates what we have known all along--Sampson County Schools have a Commitment to Excellence!
